VISIT OF DELEGATION FROM TOYOHASHI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
Thursday, 25 February 2016 – Centre for Chemical Biology (CCB) received a visit of delegation from Toyohashi University of Technology (TUT) which consist of seven administrators from TUT and also from several other universities in Japan. The main objective of their visit is to develop their knowledge on how CoE and Sains@USM operate and their main functions in supporting USM agenda.
NEW MSc STUDENT
CCB would like to welcome our new MSc student in Biotechnology, Tan Hooi Nee under the supervision of Professor Alexander Chong Shu Chien. She will be conducting a research which involved sampling at Temengor Lake, Perak, Malaysia. She will reveal the diversity and functional annotation of the microbiome using metagenomics sequencing directly from the lake of different depths (light zone and dark zone) without isolating the bacteria.

VISIT FROM ECR UK-MALAYSIA
On 26 January 2016, The Centre for Chemical Biology (CCB) received a visit from the participants of ECR UK-Malaysia Early Career Researchers Link Workshop. During the tour, the participants were briefed about the research activities and toured some of the existing laboratories.
